In 1906 Marshall B. Lloyd founded the Lloyd Manufacturing Co. The company quickly became famous for its wicker baby buggies and children’s wicker furniture. By the early 1920’s. Marshal B. Lloyd revolutionized the wicker industry with his Lloyd Loom, a weaving machine that could do the work of 30 men. The Heywood-Wakefield Company purchased Lloyd Manufacturing in 1921. With the introduction of more wicker furniture lines, the popularity Lloyd Loom wicker rapidly increased throughout the US and Canada.
